How I start my mornings on a happy note 🌞
Years ago, I learnt from author Robin Sharma
that how you feel during the first hour of
the day determines the mood for the rest
of your day.
So if you start your day feeling rushed and
upset, your overall day will be filled with
anxiety and frustration.
But if you start your day feeling calm and
happy, your overall day will be filled with
peace and joy.
This is why after knowing this simple truth,
I was very deliberate in how I spend my
first hour of the day.
Regardless of the time I wake up and how
stressful the day might be, I will make sure
that the first hour of my day is calm and joyful.
I even came up with a morning routine that
comprises of the following activities and
in sequence:
Send a morning text to my partner.
Play happy songs (see my playlist)
Brush my teeth and wash my face.
Get a cup of coffee.
Go to my workspace.
Light a scented candle.
Switch to calming music.
Journaling (see my five questions)
Read a self-help book.
The entire morning routine lasts 30-60 mins.
And it sets the tone for the rest of my day.
Now you don’t have to follow exactly
what I do but the key is to do the things
that make you calm and happy.
So it may be making breakfast for your family
or watering your plants or going for a morning
walk.
But here’s the bottom line, win your morning
so you can win your day! Your #1 fan, Eric Feng
